This is the second project undertaken for Esperance and for the second time working directly with the owner Silje Augustson’s. The location picked for the summer collection was Formentera, a small Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Even though this was a summer shoot we wanted to keep the colours soft and contract light to keep the same brand style shown throughout the collection.

Like with any shoot you come across challenges you need to overcome. For this project, due it to being only a 2-day shoot and the time of year/location, light was the challenge. We would be shooting 95% outdoors we needed to work out where we needed to be at what time of day to best use the light. In Formentera the sun gets high quickly so shooting directly in the sun after 10am wasn’t ideal…This is when a sun planning app comes in very handy! We could work out where the sun would be and at what time to best use the shade we had from the villa we were using for the shoot.

The brief was to create a 60s (or so) piece to showcase the new summer collection. Two days down and we walked away with a smile on all our faces and a hard drive full of content to take in to the edit.
